The English health and social care regulator, the Care Quality Commission (CQC), reported on the Melrose Surgery, opposite the Royal Berkshire Hospital on London Road, on 17 May 2018 and rated it as ‘good‘.
The CQC said:
Staff involved patients in care decisions and treated patients with compassion, kindness, dignity and respect.
Patients found the appointment system easy to use and reported that they were able to access care when they needed it.
The CQC also reported some ‘outstanding’ practice:
Diabetic patients received annual Doppler ultrasound assessments [which] provides clinicians with imaging of foot arteries and… means patients can be informed of any potential complications regarding their foot health earlier than… otherwise.
