Reading Borough Council has won a grant from the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) to install electric vehicle charging points on residential streets that have no off-street parking. The Council have asked Reading residents to help them identify suitable streets in a survey that closes on 15 December.

This Go Electric Reading project will install chargers using the existing electrical supply to street furniture, such as lamp posts, allowing residents to charge their vehicles on street and outside their own homes.

Anybody with an electric vehicle, or thinking of getting one, should consider completing the council’s survey before 15 December.
