Reading Borough Council (RBC) will discuss the partial demolition and redevelopment of the former dental surgery at 43 London Street at the RBC planning committee on 5 February. Council officers recommend that the redevelopment proceed subject to legal agreement.
RBC says that although 43 London Street is not itself a listed building, it is sandwiched between two taller grade-II listed buildings, and has been vacant since 2016. The proposed development of 21 residential units will be built on a car park currently accessed from East Street, and it abuts the new student accommodation block currently being built on the old East Street car park behind RISC.
You can read the RBC officers’ reports online. The planning application committee meets at 6.30pm on Wednesday 5 February in the Council Chamber in the Civic Offices, Bridge Street, Reading RG1 2LU.
