Visitors to Reading’s Milman Road Health Centre who need a wheelchair can now make use of one donated by Monica Morris, the widow of Dr Vernon Morris who had been a patient of the centre and who died in December 2018, aged 92.
Hidden behind an ornate brick frontage on Milman Road stands a quietly growing giant. This giant is a tree, and not just any tree, but a Californian Redwood. It is the only tree on the street with a preservation order, thanks to efforts by local legends John and Edna Tuggey.
Negative Capability is the twenty-first album by former Milman Road, Katesgrove resident, singer and songwriter Marianne Faithfull. Negative Capability was a phrase used by the romantic poet John Keats in 1817 in a letter to his brothers.
The new Milman Road Health Centre website, available from 9 May.
Milman Road Health Centre will get a new website on 9 May. Health centre manager Anne-Marie Dykes said that the new website will allow greater online interaction with the practice and help to reduce telephone traffic. She added that it will allow patients to communicate with the health centre when it suits them and the practice will aim to answer questions within two working days.
